Job Description As Regional Planning Manager you will be contributing to the success of the transport / planning team, you will be responsible for managing a team of centrally based planners, together with all out base planning functions.
A highly motivated and driven individual, you will be experienced at working in a quick and fast-paced environment and be able to deal with day to day challenges in providing an effective transport plan.
Working normally Monday to Friday on a 37.5hr working week.
However, due to the nature of the role, you may be required additional hours / days to meet the demands of the business.  What will you be doing?
Work with Transport and Warehouse teams, to create an efficient transport plan using the latest TMS Assembling of 400+ consolidated orders into loads in every 24hr period Responsible for the correct set up of hauliers, annual reviews, and general monitoring of performance Managing through a team the Planning of daily workload of the fleet together with vehicles based on site and outbases.
To be the main point of contact of implementation on planning of any changes to the business Managing all customer collections through the team and ensuring all collections are planned in a timely manner to meet all onward journeys.
Maintaining and exceeding agreed KPI's Proactively look for continuous improvements Be able to make decisions under pressure and to a tight timescale.
Have a flexible and adaptable approach to working in order to meet the requirements of the business particularly at peak periods during the year Efficiently utilise the Culina Group network in support Great Bear when volumes dictate.
To authorise spend relating to subcontractors both internally and externally, whilst maintaining a budget and understanding variations from this budget too.
Be able to identify TMS development requirements, scope of requirement and implementation on system upgrades Managing a modest size team of Transport administrators, planners and senior planners.
Qualifications Good geographical knowledge of the UK Proficient in computer literacy including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Work and Outlook CPC Desirable but not required.
Previous national planning of a large and complex operation (advantageous, not a necessity) Experience of planning 100+ tractor units across multiple depots Excellent communication skills and ability to succeed in a pressurised environment.
Customer focus on delivery performance Commercially and financially astute and driven to deliver exceptional results.
Experience of using a TMS system Experience in an FMCG environment Strong analytical and excel capability across standard formulas.
Ability to work using own initiative and with little supervision.
Experience in managing a team and to proactively encourage progression.
