Job summary The Regional Operations Manager will be a member of the Newborn Screening Wales team providing excellent screening services to babies across the South Wales region.
We are looking for someone with drive and enthusiasm who will be a visible point of contact and support local teams to develop and improve services for the local population.
Main duties of the job You will play a key role in developing and delivering national screening programmes and contributing to the development of national policy.
You will lead improvement projects on an all Wales basis.
You will also monitor risk and programme performance within region of responsibility and drive forward improvements as a result of service user feedback.
Current working conditions support a blended approach, combining office and home working.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post.

The Regional Operations Manager has delegated responsibility for the day-to-day management of Newborn Hearing Screening Wales (NBHSW) and Newborn Bloodspot Screening Wales (NBSW) provision within a particular geographical area.
At a Regional level, the Regional Operations Manager will support the Newborn Screening Operations Manager (South) in developing and managing partnerships with external Health Boards within the region, reviewing, monitoring and implementing local screening in order to deliver the screening programmes and their objectives.
The Regional Operations Manager line manages a proportion of the newborn hearing screening staff and is the managerial point of contact for all regional staff for day to day operational issues.
They will provide a visible and accessible senior management presence across west Wales.
At an all-Wales level, the Regional Operations Manager deputises for the Newborn Screening Operations Manager (North) as lead for the Newborn Screening Informatics systems, ensuring that programme staff routinely have access to specialist knowledge to support service delivery.
In addition, the postholder will take responsibility for leading agreed service improvement projects as directed by the Newborn Screening management team.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential Educated to Degree level or equivalent experience.
Post graduate management qualification or equivalent experience.
Desirable IQT Bronze Experience Essential Line management/supervisory experience Experience of working to tight deadlines Experience of managing and dealing with complaints, incidences and near misses Experience of managing change effectively Desirable Experience of service management in clinical areas Management of budgets.
