Job summary *Please note, this role is on a 12 month fixed term contractBPAS is an independenthealthcare charity which has been advocating & caring for women & coupleswho decide to end a pregnancy for more than 50 years.
We are the leadingspecialists of abortion advice & treatment in the UK, taking care of over100,000 women each year nationwide.
Nearly all the women we see have their carepaid for by the NHS.We are seeking a dynamic Regional Clinical Lead to oversee and support units in our North region.This is a full-timeappointment, including the leadership element, with the remainder of sessionsworked clinically.
The post holder will carry out the Clinical Lead rolefor 3 days a week and undertake work as a Surgeon providing terminations ofpregnancy, for 2 days per week.As a Clinical Lead, you willplay a vital role in providing medical leadership, ensuring the delivery ofhigh-quality and evidence-based care within our services.
You will manage ateam of medical professionals, contribute to quality improvement initiativesand risk management, and provide medical advice to specialist teams.Interest inundertaking surgical abortion in the first and second trimesters is desirable,and training will be provided if needed.
This role is anticipated to have aMonday to Friday schedule with some remote on-call duties.

Knowledge of termination of pregnancy procedures is essential, but training will be provided if needed.
Full General Medical Council registration and a license to practice is essential.
Key responsibilitiesProvide clinical leadership, guidance, and training to ensure adherence to BPAS clinical policies and procedures.
Act as a medical resource, offering expertise on clinical policies, suitability for treatment, and management.
Represent BPAS in external stakeholder meetings and contribute to service and policy development.
Manage a team of medical professionals within the region and provide support with medical appraisal across regions.
Lead assessments and support performance improvement for doctors.
Participate in clinical governance activities, audits, and risk management processes.
Collaborate with other Clinical Leads to organise CPD meetings, contribute to clinical educational packages, and provide training.
Provide surgical termination of pregnancy and related clinical services.

Units for surgical services to bedetermined and discussed at interview but anticipated to be Middlesbrough and Doncaster.Hours / Working Pattern: per week: as RegionalClinical Lead and 15hrs as a Surgeon over Monday to Friday.Salary: £101,000 - £151,000 per annum depending on skills and experience.
Plus an additional £10,000 per annum for the Clinical Lead supplement.Relocation package: Relocation costs as defined within HMRC guidelines up to £8000Interested so far?
