Blue Arrow are looking for reliable and efficient Refuse Loaders to work for their well-established client in Inverness.
You would be responsible for the collection and disposal of waste from residential, commercial, and industrial areas.
This role involves working as part of a team to ensure that waste is collected efficiently and safely, maintaining cleanliness standards, and adhering to health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities: Waste Collection: Load waste onto collection vehicles from designated areas, including residential, commercial, and industrial sites.
Recycling: Sort and separate recyclable materials from general waste.
Vehicle Operation: Assist in operating waste collection vehicles and hydraulic lifts, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
Route Management: Follow designated collection routes and schedules, ensuring timely and complete waste collection.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe working practices.
Maintenance: Perform daily checks and basic maintenance on collection vehicles, reporting any defects or issues to the supervisor.
Customer Interaction: Provide courteous and professional service to the public, addressing any queries or concerns related to waste collection.
Team Collaboration: Work effectively as part of a team, supporting colleagues and ensuring smooth operation of the collection round.
Qualifications: Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing and walking.
Teamwork: Strong ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Time Management: Good organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
Communication: Good communication skills for interacting with team members and the public.
Mechanical Knowledge: Basic understanding of vehicle operation and maintenance is beneficial.
The shifts would be Monday to Friday 7am-3pm with a rate of pay of £12.56/hour.
