Job summary We have a exciting opportunity for a enthusiastic and passionate qualified mental health professional (OT, RMN, SW) trainer to work alongside our peer trainers to develop within The Discovery Project our Children and Young person Recovery Education offer for upto hours a week.The Discovery Project is a partnership service between Dorset HealthCare and Dorset Mental Health Forum; this is known as the Wellbeing and Recovery Partnership.
The partnership brings together lived experience of Trauma, Mental Health issues and Emotional Distress with professional, clinical, and learned expertise.
The vision of our partnership is for Dorset to be a place where people can thrive in their communities and be valued for who they are as citizens with all of their diverse experiences.
Main duties of the job The primary focus of this role will be on the Discovery Project.
The project works in partnership alongside children and young people, their families and carers, staff, services, schools and VSCEs to build capacity and understanding in Recovery through Co-Production, Lived Experience and Recovery Education.You will be required to work as part of The Discovery Project team, supported by the Recovery Education Lead and the Wellbeing and Recovery Partnership.The role includes co-producing and co-delivering courses with peer specialists, providing contemporary specialist advice on areas of new developments, best practice and initiatives in Recovery Education.We are looking for someone with an understanding of personal recovery, how personal recovery relates to clinical recovery and recognition of how the educational process supports mental health recovery.Our main office base is in Bournemouth however, the service is pan Dorset and so travel is essential to the role.

Band 5 post registration clinical experience or equivalent Completion of further clinical skills training trauma informed practice, CBT, DBT, mindfulness training Desirable Experience of working alongside people with lived experience of Mental Health problems.
6 Competion of the Recovery Elducation Centre train the trainer or equivalent Recognised learner support qualification (Learning & Assessing) or completion of a recognised AHP Educator Programme Job specific experienc.
Job specific experience Essential Ability to communicate and work with people from all backgrounds in a strengths focused way 5 Experience and Knowledge of the theoretical underpinning of co-production and recovery and evidence of putting these into practic Experience of partnership working across different organisations Leadership & influencing skills 1 Demonstrable experience of working with young people with severe and enduring mental health problems and/or carers and supporters 2 Demonstrable experience of delivering training to professionals and teams Desirable Demonstrable experience of working with young people and their supproters with severe and enduring mental health problems and/or carers and supporters delivering psycho-educational or educational materials Personal qualities/attributes Essential Ability to work unsupervised & on own initiative Ability to integrate & work within a partnership with people with lived experience and other organisations Excellent interpersona skills Commitment to innovation & exploring new ways of working to continually improve learning delivery & working practice Able to travel within geographical area as required by service/requirements of post Desirable Lived experience of a mental health condition or emotional distress Manageri and Leadership skills Essential Experience of leading & managing people Leadership & influencing skills Ability to use persuasive, motivational & negotiation skills to engage individuals & teams to bring about change
