Job summary Wye Surgery is recruiting full and part time Receptionists / Care Navigators.The successful applicants will be working as part of our friendly, caring and supportive team in a beautiful village setting.
There are excellent transport links from Ashford and Canterbury and the train station is a few minutes walk from the practice.
Free staff parking is available onsite.We are looking for people with:Excellent customer services skills Previous clerical experience Experience of Microsoft Office and databases Excellent standards of literacy Excellent communication skills The ability to work as part of a team and autonomously when required The ability to work well under pressure Flexibility able to cover sickness and holidays An understanding of the importance of confidentialityGeneral Practice experience is desirable (document workflow, insurances and SARS) but not essential as full training will be given.You must have the flexibility to cover additional hours when required, including until 8pm on Tuesday's and Thursday's.We will be looking to start people in post as soon as possible.

Booking appointments over the telephone and face to face.
Dealing with enquiries.
Completing new patient registrations Processing patient documentation including Docman WorkflowDealing with surgery administration including insurances and SARS.

Any faults to be reported to the Supervisor or Practice Manager immediately Attendto patients both face to face and on the telephone Dealingwith requests for home visits both on the phone and by the District Nursingteam Booking ofappointments on to the clinical system, including allocating of E-consults Completepatient administrative tasks in Docman & Emis Assisting patients wishing toregister with paperwork as required, registering onto the clinical system in atimely manner Receivingnew patients medical records and logging as required Pullingand distributing medical records as required by Doctors or for change ofaddress, insurance reports etc.
Safeguarding patients privacy and confidentiality at all times Dealwith all outgoing post Ensuringreception waiting area is kept clean and tidy at all times Ensuringthat all messages or unresolved matters are passed on to other members of thereception team Ensuringthe reception desk is kept sufficiently supplied of all relevant documents Completeshredding and filing in a timely manner Completingany in-house or external training as required by the Practice Actingas a chaperone when required, once training has been given Carryout kitchen and security checks at the end of the day Ensurethat tasks of absent members of the team are carried out during leave orsicknessEach receptionist will have specific administrativetasks that they have been allocated, these will be reviewed on a regular basiswith the Supervisor/Practice Manger and should be carried outas per the relevant protocols and procedures in place.
Person Specification Experience Essential Previous clerical experience Knowledge of modern office procedures/Microsoft/Word/Excel and Outlook Good standards of literacy and numeracy Understanding of confidentiality and GDPR.
