Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Caterham, Surrey
Hourly Rate: £12.31 - £13.16 per hour
Annual Salary: £21,995.67 - £23,514.45 (depending on experience and qualifications) + £1,000 Welcome Bonus*
Working Hours: 40 hours per week (8:30 am - 4:30 pm), with the flexibility to work until 5 pm one day a week for staff training.
Term time only.
About The School
Part of a renowned SEN Academy Group, This School is a vibrant 30-place learning centre, dedicated to supporting young people aged 11-16 with communication challenges, social interaction difficulties (typically linked to Asperger's Syndrome and Autism), and challenging behaviours.
They focus on fostering growth, independence, and a sense of belonging for every student.
The School works closely with a local sister school, sharing the same Principal and Head of School, though each has its own dedicated team.
Their on-site therapy team provides ongoing support for both staff and students, ensuring everyone thrives in this dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities: Build warm, supportive relationships with students, helping them feel safe and engaged in their learning.
Promote independence, personal development, and emotional well-being.
Assist the Class Teacher in daily classroom management and adapting to the ever-changing needs of the students.
Participate in the full range of school activities, with occasional physical intervention (don't worry, full training provided).
Encourage the cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual development of students.
What they're Looking For: Minimum GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4 or equivalent).
Ideally, a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (not essential but a big plus!).
Previous experience in a special school or SEN environment is highly desirable.
Team TEACH training (desirable but not required).
