Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities?
Have you worked in care or teaching before, or are you simply interested in autism?

Position: Learning Support Worker at an adult day centre
Salary: £25,000 per annum FTE, plus a £500 joining bonus

About the Role:
We are looking for patient and caring individuals to join a dedicated team at this adult day centre that provides essential support to autistic learners aged 18 and over.
As a Learning Support Worker, you will:
Work individually and in small groups to support the development of knowledge and skills that enhance learners' well-being, independence, and social inclusion.
Use behaviour-driven teaching strategies and interventions to promote positive outcomes and development.
Work both within our Centre for Lifelong Learning and accompany our learners in the community, applying their learning to real-world situations.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive support, care, and teaching to autistic adult learners.
Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons and activities that support knowledge and skill development.
Offer behaviourally based support to reduce behaviours that negatively impact the quality of life.
Provide personal care, encouraging and enabling adult learners to maintain acceptable levels of hygiene, including toileting, dressing, and washing.
Support adult learners' participation in social, leisure, and educational activities within the local community.
Assist learners in accessing work experience and employment opportunities.
Monitor and track learners' progress to ensure that the support, care, and teaching provided are effective and tailored to their needs.

Why Choose This Centre?
Competitive Compensation: A competitive salary with a £500 bonus upon joining.
Flexible Schedule: Sociable hours with no evening, weekend, or overnight shifts required.
Part-time options are also available.
Generous Leave: Enjoy 23 days of paid holiday (3 days more than the standard) plus bank holidays.
Career Advancement: Opportunities for career progression and regular salary increases within a short period.
Extensive Training: Benefit from extensive training in first aid, safeguarding, emergency medication, and more.
Professional Qualifications: Opportunities to gain funded and recognised qualifications, including the Care Certificate and RQF Level 3 in adult social care.
Supportive Environment: Work in a supportive setting with dedicated colleagues and management, and gain opportunities to work independently with our learners outside your standard working hours.

What You Need:
A driving licence or access to transportation (due to the remote location).
Professional, personal, or voluntary experience working with adults or young people with disabilities.
Comfort in working with adults who exhibit challenging behaviour.
Ability to support others with personal/intimate care when required.
