Job summary The post holder will have overall responsibility for the strategic and operational management of the Digital Information Systems of the trust wide RIS, PACS, IEP and other integrated software systems.
The successful candidate is expected to review and assess the provision of the current service and staffing within the Trust.
The post holder will be expected to manage and develop the PACS team at Dartford & Gravesham NHS Trust to ensure that there is continuity of service at all times for all of its sites within the DGT footprint.
The role includes planning and overseeing: PACS/RIS related systems PACS/RIS data integrity/quality Development of the PACS/RIS system User training Delivery of data reports Representing DGT within K & M and SE London (Bexley) ICS Management of the PACS/RIS team The post holder is expected to work autonomously and exercise initiative within the scope of the role along with working with the imaging department, and the digital team.
Main duties of the job Provide detailed and complex analysis and reports on Radiology data, presenting it in several different formats using several methods of delivery, when required.
Present analysis and findings to small or large groups, when required.
Attend departmental and regional meetings when required.
Act as Chair and Deputy Chair for the PACS, AI and RIS user group as required.
Provide professional leadership and management of all current and future Radiology PACS and IT Systems.
Including Sectra, CRIS, Communicator, iCRIS, Behold AI, Brainomix, Little CRIS, Sectra AI Toolbox and Mobile CRIS.
Ensure that the service delivery is information governance, patient and safety focused and of the highest quality.
Collaborate in the formation of new standards of operating procedures, policies and initiatives to improve current service delivery across all sites and aid in development of new services.

Job description Job responsibilities Develop a detailed technical understanding of the RIS/PACS systems architecture at DGT and within the K&M ICS and will be DGTs primary technical expert on PACS/RIS.
Work with the Digital Service (DS) managers to facilitate first line technical support and take part in second line technical support and problem solving with the DS Technical team.
Manage planned maintenance and upgrades.
Work with the RIS/PACs system vendors to maintain the PACS/RIS architecture When necessary the post holder will provide out of hours IM&T support for Radiology.
Ensure all local documentation, databases, system configuration documents and associated information streams are maintained and current.
Work closely with the Trust DS department to ensure a seamless delivery of Radiology services.

Person Specification Education Essential o5 Years Post graduate level qualification or equivalent PACS experience in a large organisation either NHS or within the UK Desirable oAn appropriate professional qualification recognised by the College of Radiographers eg a Radiography degree (BSc) or Diploma of Radiography (DCR).
Experience of database management (RIS) oRegistered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Knowledge Essential oExcellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex or multi stranded issues in a clear and logical manner oExpert knowledge of the workings of RIS and PACS oExcellent understanding of function and interaction of computerised radiology and subsidiary systems (HIS, RIS, PAS, and PACS Desirable oLeadership skills.
Experience Essential oDemonstrable experience of working within a radiology department or other health care setting at a senior level.
