We're offering an exciting opportunity for a Team Lead within our expanding RF and Antenna Team.
This role combines technical expertise with leadership responsibility, providing the chance to work on some of the most high-profile and challenging projects in UK defence.
As Team Lead, you'll manage and guide a team of RF specialists, ensuring the successful design and delivery of innovative solutions that will have a direct impact on national security.
You'll also be instrumental in driving the technical direction of the team while fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the design and delivery of complex RF design packages, working within a multidisciplinary environment.
Guide the team in the design and testing of RF circuits across a broad frequency range (e.g., 30 MHz to 30 GHz), including components such as LNA amplifiers, high-power amplifiers, filters, oscillators, and modulators.
Provide both technical and functional leadership, helping to develop high-performing teams and inspiring continuous innovation.
Oversee the planning and execution of RF design tasks, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Work closely with other Team Leads, Group Leads, and Technical Experts to ensure alignment with project goals and company objectives.
Mentor and support your team, offering guidance on both technical and career development.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure designs meet the required standards for manufacture, testing, and integration.
What We're Looking For Proven experience in leading complex RF design projects, with a strong understanding of RF components and systems.
Expertise in RF circuit design and testing across a wide frequency range (e.g., amplifiers, oscillators, filters, synthesizers).
Familiarity with RF and antenna design tools such as Microwave Office, HFSS, and relevant layout tools.
Strong knowledge of digital, analogue, and power supply design.
Solid understanding of modern Radio Transceiver System architecture and design.
Experience with manufacturing techniques and design for manufacturability.
Project management experience, with the ability to plan, organise, and oversee tasks using tools such as Excel, P6, or MS Project.
A flair for leadership and the ability to inspire and drive team performance.
