Quarry Manager We are currently seeking an experienced Quarry Manager to lead our team at a busy quarry and asphalt plant.
Role Overview As Quarry Manager, you will report directly to the Operations Manager and be responsible for overseeing all quarrying and asphalt plant operations.
This includes ensuring safety and operational standards, managing costs, leading and developing a team, and delivering exceptional performance.
Compliance with regulations and internal policies will also be a critical part of the role.
Requirements Key Responsibilities: Lead, manage, and develop a skilled team to ensure business continuity and minimise risk.
Oversee quarrying operations, including material extraction, processing, and transport.
Manage budgets, prepare operational reports, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Maintain and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure staff training on safety and compliance.
Oversee planned preventative maintenance and ensure the site operates to high production and safety standards.
Drive performance by analysing and reporting key KPIs.
Promote continuous improvement, reducing costs and waste streams through effective monitoring.
Foster a collaborative "one team" approach with clear goals and objectives.
Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will have experience in a similar role within quarrying operations and hold a relevant qualification, such as a Diploma in Quarry Technology or FdSc in Extractives Technology.
Benefits Essential Skills and Experience: Strong understanding of extraction, crushing, screening, and beneficiation techniques.
Knowledge of Quarry Regulations 1999, enabling a Regulation 8.1(c) appointment.
Relevant health and safety qualifications (e.g., SHE NVQ Level 4/QCF Level 6).
Experience with Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work.
Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (SAP experience advantageous).
Excellent people management skills with the ability to motivate and empower teams.
