Your New Opportunity: We're looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our Garvagh-based team.
Reporting to the Operations Director, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering diverse, high-stakes projects on time, within budget, and to exacting quality standards.

Key Responsibilities: Lead quantity surveying duties from project inception through to final account preparation Prepare, monitor, and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions and reporting on any commercial issues Assist with estimating, preparing detailed bids, and compiling tender documents Negotiate, draft, and review contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors Collaborate closely with project managers and engineers for seamless project execution Conduct risk assessments to mitigate commercial and contractual risks Deliver monthly reports, including cost analysis, overhead monitoring, and Earned Value reports Ensure compliance with all industry standards, safety protocols, and internal policies What You'll Bring to Smyth Steel: Experience: 2-3 years as a Quantity Surveyor in construction or engineering, with specific expertise in structural steel Education: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field Skills: Proficiency in cost estimation software and BIM, plus a working knowledge of contracts such as NEC, JCT, and CECA Attributes: Analytical mindset, meticulous attention to detail, and strong communication skills Competencies: Effective prioritization, critical thinking, and a collaborative spirit to foster teamwork Flexibility: Willingness to travel as needed across the UK Ready to Build the Future with Us?
