Job Profile As the successful Quality Inspector, your main functions will be mechanical inspection, document inspection results, input data into quality database, raising and signing release documents (CofC, Advice Notes, etc.)
in line with company directives (QMS) and customer requirements.
Duties: Inspects and approves incoming/outgoing materials/products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and reporting to Head of Inspection/QA any non-conforming materials/products.
Perform first off, in-process and final inspection by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments to production supervisor/operator.
Read technical drawings, control plans, and specifications to understand the requirements of products and services.
Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizes re-work and waste, and inputs data into quality database.
Raising and signing release documents (CofC, Advice Notes, etc.)
Keep measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements, and reporting to QA any faulty or out of calibration equipment.
Communicating with the Quality/Engineering department about how to prevent similar defects in the future.
Carry out such other reasonable duties within the business from time to time.
Skills & Attributes: A minimum of 3-5 years experience in a similar role (preferred).
Strong understanding of quality control/inspection standards and testing techniques/methods (use of micrometres, verniers, DTis, height gauges, CMM, etc.)
(required).
Strong understanding technical drawings and GD&T (required).
RCCA knowledge (including 8D methodology) Good math and technical skills (required).
Good knowledge of MS Office (preferred).
General knowledge of gear metrology (preferred).
FAIR/PPAP knowledge (preferred).
Ability to work in fast paced environment/under pressure (required).
Hours of Work: 37 hours p/wk.
14:45 00:00; there is an overlap of 30 minutes for a handover between 1 st and 2 nd shift.
Breaks: 30-minute paid break from 18:45 19:15.
£17.00 to £20.00 per hour + shift premium of 20% on all the hours on that shift.
Overtime available, paid at x1.5hrs.
Initially you would need to work the 1 st shift until relevant training has been completed.
1 st shift hours: 40 hours/week, worked 07:00 15:45, Mo.
Thur.
and 06:00 13:00 Fri.
Tea breaks: 09:30-09:45 and 14:30 14:45.
Lunch break 12:00 12:30 (Mo.-Thur.)
NOTE: the company is about to roll out revised 1 st shift hours which will be 06:30 15:15, Mon-Thur and 06:00 13:00 Fri.
Breaks 09:30 10:00 and 12:30 13:00, one which must be taken and cannot be worked.
