Bovill & Boyd (Technical Mouldings) Ltd are recruiting for a 'hands on' Senior Quality Engineer to join our team at our manufacturing facility in Fiddington, Tewkesbury.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced Quality Engineer who is keen to move to a management position.
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate the ability to challenge the status quo, bringing constructive change to a growing business.
Main duties: Support Group Quality Manager in the management of the quality management system Responsible for supporting production manufacturing with problem solving process improvements and resolution to manufacturability issues Review weekly scrap data and identify any trends and potential improvements Review and be part of a team for Root Cause analysis.
Review/Conduct production/process-based audits & analysis the findings Put together PPAP package for submission to customers Reviews supplier PPAP submissions including control plans and assists with control plan creation where necessary Identify process improvements using Quality Tools, CSF data, focusing on reduction of waste/scrap.
Participate in APQP and other cross-functional teams and provide input to the requirements for the review and approval of new or modified products, new or modified purchased components and new or modified processes Maintain Quarantine area.
Inspection and calibration of all measuring equipment Ensure your activities within the organization are compliant with procedures that are in place for ISO 9001 Use of all equipment within the quality department, Scanner based at our head office (Sudbury) Chair weekly Reject Review meetings.
Participate in Management meetings Key Tasks to support Expected Outcomes: Ensure personal targets are met.
Assist with implementation written procedures for existing and new products.
Ensure product brochures complete and up to date.
Help to ensure manufacturing databases are up to date.
Assist with rollout of Lean & 5s throughout the Business.
Build positive relationships internally ensuring quality is a focus of all employees.
Always ensure positive and constructive feedback and communication.
Training and Development: Keep up to date with developments in the manufacturing industry as they relate to your position Attend courses, seminars or functions that are needed to carry out the responsibilities of this post effectively as agreed with the Group Quality Manager Characteristics/Core Competencies: Operates above the line see below Able to constructively challenge Production Team Honest & Realistic Works well as part of a team Great communicator able to sell an idea/concept Organized & extremely computer literate Qualifications and training: Essential Related industry experience At least 3 years experience in a Quailty role Desirable HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering TPBN1_UKTJ
