Are you passionate about quality engineering and ready to make a difference in the defense industry?
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer to support our Operations and Quality departments, ensuring that our products and processes meet both business and customer requirements.
What You'll Do: In this pivotal role, you will: - Implement and manage inspection and certification control plans.
- Support the Project Management team during contract reviews.
- Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) requirements, including PPAP and FAIRs.
- Oversee process production part approvals through visual and dimensional inspections.
- Conduct final inspections of completed components and assemblies, ensuring compliance.
- Provide manufacturing support to production areas in addressing quality issues.
- Update and implement procedures as necessary.
- Evaluate measurement systems and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) to ISO 9001:2015 standards.
- Conduct internal audits of processes and carry out shop floor product sample and process audits.
- Manage non-conformance issues and report on performance metrics.
Who We're Looking For: We're on the lookout for an experienced Quality Engineer with a background in defense standards and a solid understanding of technical documentation, including engineering drawings.
Your role will be vital in maintaining our QMS, carrying out production audits, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Competencies: - Previous experience as a Quality Engineer, preferably in electronics-based manufacturing.
- In-depth knowledge of technical documentation and engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with defense standards and electronic/electrical components.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear reports.
- Experience in implementing APQP requirements to meet customer expectations.
- Qualified and experienced quality auditor for ISO 9001.
- Knowledge of lean methodologies such as 5S and POKA YOKE.
- Familiarity with IPC-A-610/IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards is a plus.
