Quality Engineer

ROLE - Quality Engineer LOCATION Derby TERM Permanent SALARY - £35,000 - £45,000 per annum depending on experience Your Responsibilities Ensure the local Quality Management System aligns with the agreed scope and maintains ISO 9001 compliance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate and develop new products or implement changes to existing products, ensuring compliance with customer and legislative requirements.
Monitor and support quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) during project phases, providing evidence to demonstrate that targets are being met.
Oversee non-conformance and concern management processes.
Implement effective containment, corrective, and preventive actions using the Global 8D approach.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to broader business improvement initiatives.
Report site KPIs and metrics, highlighting performance, compliance, and improvement opportunities, and develop action plans to address identified gaps.
Establish and maintain robust quality control systems to meet internal and external customer expectations.
Plan and conduct internal audits, address identified issues, and implement corrective actions to close non-conformances.
Adhere to the company Health, Safety, and Environmental Policy.
Qualifications and Skills Key Skills Excellent administrative and organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
Thorough understanding of ISO 9001:2015 standards and experience in ISO-compliant environments.
Proven ability to conduct internal audits and manage compliance systems.
Strong knowledge of root cause analysis tools and techniques such as 8D, Cause and Effect Diagrams, and 5 Whys.
Competence in managing systems to ensure process inputs meet required specifications.
Familiarity with engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.
Experience with inspection processes and quality control equipment.
People Profile Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
Ability to thrive in multi-disciplinary and cross-functional teams.
Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
