We are now looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to join our team in Bath.
You will play a key role in ensuring our products meet the stringent requirements demanded by our customers, improve our quality systems and our business performance.
This role of Quality Engineer reports to the Quality Manager, within the Technical department.
This role is full-time and based onsite.
Job Purpose: The Quality Engineer (QE) is responsible for implementing process and quality system controls to ensure products meet or exceed customer requirements.
This will be achieved by utilising proactive quality assurance principles to ensure product quality standards are achieved, identify risks & opportunities, reduce waste and hence reduce the cost of poor quality.
The QE will assist continuous improvement by utilizing the appropriate quality tools and providing data analysis.
Key Responsibilities: Identify and drive quality improvement initiatives across the business, implement improvement actions and confirm their effectiveness Identify, facilitate and lead problem solving activities and projects to resolve quality related issues e.g.
customer complaints and high internal defect rates.
Ensure learning is captured in FMEA and control plans and this is communicated to interested parties Generate control actions to mitigate identified risks to product quality.
Review and amend these plans based on feedback from the process and customer Ensure customer requirements are accurately communicated to the Operations and Quality Control functions and that the required measurement tools are available and validated Control specifications, manufacturing documentation and boundary/visual standards as required.
Issue CoAs with customer deliveries Audit to ISO standards and evaluate finished product to assess quality system failure rate as part of the manufacturing PDCA process Support our customers with problem solving activities to resolve complaints Audit key suppliers and implement a supplier QA program to mitigate risks.
Support the design and development of products through the stage gate process Skills, Qualifications and Experience: In-depth knowledge of quality assurance techniques is essential Knowledge of ISO9001 standard and experience of auditing quality systems Education to degree level or experienced with ONC/ HNC, preferably in a scientific or technical capacity Experience within the papermaking industry is beneficial but not essential Working knowledge of SPC/SQA and their implementation A team player, a motivator and someone who is comfortable leading by example, you will have strong time management and problem-solving skills and will have the ability to work with cross functional teams Company Benefits: 26 days holiday, plus bank holidays.
