By developing business management capability, championing collaboration across routes, regions and functions, to harness the power of 6 (regional business units and national teams).We provide the business with insights and solutions to address strategic business challenges.What does the average day look like?As a key leader at Network Rail, you will provide strategic guidance and leadership to ensure the business effectively delivers its objectives.
You will lead the creation and implementation of governance frameworks, helping the organisation develop robust policies and practices while managing risks within acceptable limits.You will oversee assurance plans, upholding the three lines of defence to safeguard the company's safety and performance.
By facilitating governance, assurance, and improvement forums, you will shape decision-making across the organisation to achieve strategic goals, while promoting a culture of quality, compliance, and best practices throughout the business and its supply chain.
Additionally, you will be responsible for leading Network Rail's change community and approach to managing change.Essential Criteria·Recognised leadership capability, with the vision and ability to establish cross-functional relationships and drive cultural/organisational change;·Expert knowledge and experience at a senior level in the successful delivery of governance, assurance and improvement/change in a large and complex multidisciplinary organisation;·Exceptional interpersonal skills, possessing the ability to maintain credibility and influence people at all levels within a large complex organisation, up to and including executive level as well as diverse senior stakeholders;·Excellent communication and presentation skills, numerate, analytical and articulate and ability to develop business-wide solutions;·Proven ability to motivate and engage teams;·Substantial experience in senior management roles in a complex organisation;·Strong commercial awareness and financially astute;Desirable Criteria·Member/Fellow of the Chartered Quality Institute or relevant professional body and/or educated to degree level;·Knowledge of/experience in the railway industry;·A post-degree business qualification;
