Siemens is creating its first UK based Rail Industry Hub on the outskirts of Goole in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
With an initial contract to assemble nearly 50 trains to service the Piccadilly line on the London Underground we are starting to recruit up to 300 skilled technical and support colleagues at in our Manufacturing Facility.
In the near future follow-on work is expected to bring this number of trains into the hundreds, along with an expansion on the site into maintenance and overhaul activities displaying a long-term commitment to the area and growth in employment and career opportunities.
We are now recruiting our first Quality Assurance Technicians to join us at our new Rail Manufacturing Facility in Goole.
This role is crucial to ensure the safety and quality of the trains throughout the Manufacturing Process.
Please note that you will be may have to travel to Vienna in this role.
You will make an impact: Being part of the Quality Team interacting directly with the production and logistics teams, to ensure governance and compliance are maintained at all times.
Supporting the Team Lead Quality and your fellow team members, being directly responsible for performing checks and inspections within the facility, including regular checks against manufacturing milestones, and supporting customer inspections.
You will demonstrate: Experience of delivering stand-back governance activities A technical background, with either relevant technical experience or a technical education The ability to use measuring devices and gauges The ability to read and understand technical drawings Effective communication skills across a variety of methods IT literacy and the willingness to learn new digital systems It would be beneficial to have: Experience in a similar safety-first environment, especially in a manufacturing/production environment Previous knowledge of SAP or similar other ERP system experience Experience with root-cause-analysis tools.
