Role and Responsibilities As SENCO, you will lead and manage the school's SEN provision, playing a vital role in supporting the progress and well-being of students with SEMH needs.
Your role will include: Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and targeted support for students with additional needs.
Collaborating with teachers, teaching assistants, and external professionals to ensure quality provision and support.
Ensuring compliance with SEN policies and the SEND Code of Practice, including appropriate documentation and assessments.
Leading staff training and development to promote inclusive, effective teaching strategies.
Building positive relationships with parents and caregivers to support student progress both in and out of school.
Essential Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO).
Extensive experience working with children with SEN, ideally within SEMH or special school settings.
In-depth knowledge of SEND legislation, policies, and best practices.
Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage multi-disciplinary teams.
