Job Title: Qualified Accountant Location: Hybrid/office (3 days per week minimum) Contract Type: Permanent Working Pattern: Full Time Our client, an established accounting agency, is currently seeking a Qualified Accountant to join their team.
As a Qualified Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining financial records for a portfolio of clients and overseeing the workload of the practise team.
Responsibilities & Duties: Conduct client meetings, both virtual and face-to-face.
Provide complex tax advice to clients.
Prepare and complete annual accounts.
Review and sign off work completed by other members of the accounting team.
Deal with complaints and complex client issues.
Handle HMRC audits and investigations.
Monitor and analyse data related to KPIs.
Attend management meetings when required.
Foster collaboration within the team to achieve the organisation's goals.
Act as an ambassador for the organisation and support its objectives and themes.
Commit to continuous professional development and share knowledge with colleagues to help future-proof the organisation.
Required Skills and Qualifications: ACA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification.
Experience with cloud accounting software (FreeAgent, QuickBooks, Xero).
Proven background in accounting and managing client portfolios.
Strong attention to detail.
Proficiency in Word and Excel.
Extensive knowledge of accounting and taxation principles.
Advanced understanding of income tax, corporation tax, VAT, and PAYE.
Problem-solving abilities and a commitment to delivering professional and accurate service.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong time management skills to meet deadlines.
Previous team management experience.
Client-focused attitude with commercial awareness.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills: Knowledge of capital gains and inheritance tax.
Experience with HMRC audit and investigations.
Previous performance management experience.
