Role: QS Manager Location: Reading - Hybrid Working 2 days On Site Salary: £650 p/d outside IR35 Requirement: QS Manager for Internal Support across Commercial and Procurement teams involved in large complex infrastructure projects.

Role Overview: Sitting between the Commercial and Procurement teams and their incumbent suppliers you are driving accountability and performance by rigorously scrutinising contract delivery against responsibility and managing all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects.
From initial calculations to the final figures, you will play a key role in ensuring that projects are completed within budget and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Communicating clearly to all stakeholders throughout the project from inception to delivery.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare and manage project budgets, estimates, and cost plans.
Conduct feasibility studies and cost analyses.
Negotiate contracts and manage procurement processes.
Assess, value, and approve variations and change orders.
Monitor and report on project progress, costs, and financial forecasts.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior quantity surveyors and other team members.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
Professional membership with RICS, CIOB, or equivalent.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
Proven track record of managing costs on large-scale construction projects.
Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proficient in relevant software applications (e.g., MS Excel, CostX, CATO, etc.).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
