Are you an established QA Lead looking for a new challenge?
As a QA Lead, you will be responsible for the quality output of a Product by ensuring the test strategy agreed at the Product level is being carried out.
You will supervise the execution of the testing process, decide on an appropriate test strategy and directly line manage QA staff working within the team.
With an excellent working knowledge of the production pipeline, testing and live products, you will champion Quality across the Product team What you'll be doing: Plan, create and execute resource planning with the aim to achieve excellent test coverage in response to product needs.
Work seamlessly with development teams to track issues and assist in the remedy of defects.
Create and maintain appropriate QA processes to facilitate work on assigned products.
Develop, and guide, the testing strategy on an assigned product Embed yourself within the leadership group of the assigned product, advocate for quality.
Ensure the team applies defect reporting standards and adapt or improve the standards as necessary.
Allow the team to report in a concise and informative manner that reduces back and forth between QA and developers.
Ensure all test requirements are executed on time and to an excellent standard, including the upstream requirements that QA depend upon.
Create and maintain QA metrics that measure team performance, ability to release, risks, process adaption, and defect trends, among others.
Manages the outsource QA function, as and when required, ensuring high quality levels are adhered to.
Provide line management to assigned team members.
Support QA team members; mentor, inspire and help develop their skills.
Participate in QA Craft including Communities of Practice, ad hoc knowledge sharing efforts, and peer review, giving actionable feedback.
Actively participate in the recruitment process for QA staff.
What you'll need: ISTQB Foundation (or equivalent) Excellent knowledge and understanding of the software development lifecycle and the process, pipelines, disciplines and dependencies required to make a video game.
Understanding of various game platforms and their release environments, including but not limited to PC (Windows, OSX) and mobile (iOS, Android).
Good familiarity with QA in an Agile environment and Agile frameworks in general.
Excellent knowledge of test tools, including defect-tracking (e.g.
JIRA), Test Management Systems (e.g.
X-Ray, Testrail) and source control (e.g.
Perforce, SVN) Good understanding of software QA and games development practices and terminology e.g, version control, regression, integration, versions.
Ability to manage teams and individuals, mentor and develop other QA testers.
Experience with managing external test teams, including preparing tasks, providing feedback and scheduling.
