Our client, a software company providing a critical service to some of the biggest organisations in the world, is going from strength to strength and is on the lookout for a Python/Java Software Developer to join their growing team.
Role Overview: In this position, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining Linux applications.
You will collaborate with a diverse team to ensure high-quality application implementation and contribute to the development of a large-scale management appliance.
Please note: This is a mid-level position suited to someone with several years' commercial Python, Java & Linux development experience - please see below for details.
Responsibilities: Create and sustain software applications using Python (3.8) and Java (JDK17).
Work alongside developers, QA engineers, stakeholders, and management.
Maintain high standards of quality throughout the development process.
Manage and configure Linux-based systems (RedHat, Ubuntu, SUSE Linux).
Occasionally handle UNIX-based systems (AIX, Solaris).
Desired Skills and Experience: Expertise in Python and Java programming.
Knowledge of HTML5, TypeScript, JavaScript, Bash, and PowerShell is beneficial.
Strong proficiency in Linux; Windows skills are a plus.
Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and server migration software is highly desirable.
Understanding of Agile development methodologies, continuous integration, and continuous testing.
