Job Title: Purchasing Manager
Location: Doncaster
Salary: Up to £55,000 DOE
The Role We're looking for an experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee procurement activities for a significant budget of £20 million while managing an inventory of £5 million.
You will lead a talented purchasing team, strengthen supplier relationships, and shape procurement strategies to ensure smooth operations and continued success.

Key Responsibilities Team Leadership: Inspire and lead the purchasing team, ensuring tasks are prioritised effectively, challenges are addressed promptly, and team members are supported in their development.
Supplier Relationships: Build strong partnerships with key suppliers, including site visits across the UK and occasional overseas travel.
Product Development: Work closely with internal teams to identify and introduce new products and suppliers, ensuring alignment with company standards.
Inventory Management: Develop processes to maintain optimal stock levels, balancing customer demand with accurate forecasting.
Cost Efficiency: Negotiate with suppliers to achieve cost savings, secure favourable terms, and maximise value through initiatives such as rebate generation and freight optimisation.
Process Optimisation: Identify opportunities to streamline procurement processes, reducing inefficiencies and mitigating risks.
Quality Oversight: Address purchasing-related quality issues and collaborate with relevant teams to implement corrective actions.
Sustainability Focus: Support the company's ethical sourcing and sustainability objectives, including environmentally responsible transportation solutions.
System Management: Ensure accurate data entry and record-keeping within ERP systems, enabling effective reporting and analysis.
What We're Looking For A proven track record in purchasing or procurement management roles.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide a team.
Expertise in supplier negotiations and relationship management.
Solid understanding of demand planning and inventory control.
Advanced Excel skills and an analytical mindset.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
Flexibility for travel, including occasional international trips.
