Hotel Café Royal, a luxury 5-star hotel with 159 rooms and suites, a renowned spa, and five distinctive food and beverage outlets, is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead our procurement division.
This is an exciting opportunity to oversee the sourcing of a wide variety of productsfrom essential goods to specialist ingredientswhile supporting a dynamic team in delivering exceptional guest experiences.
As our Purchasing Manager , you will be a key member of the Finance team, managing procurement operations to ensure that stock levels are maintained, budgets are adhered to, and supplier relationships are optimized.
Youll work closely with departmental teams across the hotel, combining your expertise in procurement with a meticulous and hands-on approach to ensure smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities: Strategic Procurement: Source, negotiate, and maintain relationships with suppliers to secure the best prices and quality for goods.
Ensure all procurement aligns with budgetary constraints and operational requirements.
Stay up-to-date with market trends and pricing strategies, particularly within the luxury hospitality and food & beverage sectors.
Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day purchasing operations, ensuring stock levels are consistently maintained across all departments.
Coordinate and manage orders for general products and perishable goods in line with business needs.
Respond to supplier queries and issues promptly and professionally.
Financial Oversight: Prepare financial reports, journals, and budgeting documents related to procurement activities.
Conduct regular stock-taking and inventory control processes.
Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of purchasing staff, fostering a culture of efficiency and excellence.
Manage recruitment, training, and development of team members.
Schedule staff effectively and oversee payroll for the division.
Compliance & Safety: Implement and uphold Health & Safety policies and best practices across the procurement division.
Ensure all purchases comply with company standards and legal requirements.
Your Profile: Proven experience in a senior purchasing, procurement, or buying role within a large, multi-outlet 5-star luxury hotel, restaurant group, or high-end retail environment.
Strong proficiency in ADACO is essential .
Knowledge of Micros is an advantage.
Strong knowledge of food & beverage sourcing, with an understanding of the London restaurant and hospitality scene.
Exceptional negotiation and buying skills with a proven ability to secure competitive prices.
Strong numerical skills and a meticulous attention to detail.
Impeccable grooming and presentation, with outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Flexible approach to working hours, including occasional weekends, with time off in lieu provided.
