Purchasing Administrator Hertford Job Description Job title: Purchasing Administrator Responsible to: UK Supply Chain Manager The purpose of your job is to… help the Operations team meet the organisation's objectives by purchasing goods and services in a timely and cost-effective manner, supporting production planning, providing timely and accurate reports and data analysis.
To do this well you must… be very well organised, be able to prioritize, demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, work well under pressure and be a good communicator at all levels within our organisation.
Your responsibilities are… To purchase stock and merchantable items, consumables, maintenance spares, tools and equipment for branches and customer orders.
To ensure that goods and services are obtained efficiently, cost-effectively, and in alignment with the organisation's strategic goals.
To check order acknowledgements in support of reducing the risk of errors, minimizing disputes and avoiding delays.
To ensure on time deliveries and to maintain continuity in supply.
To resolve problems such as order discrepancies, missing or delayed shipments, quality issues, replacements, invoice issues.
To liaise with suppliers, supply chain, production and sales teams ensuring regular and precise communication.
To support the procurement team in the process of sourcing and maintaining suppliers as well as delivering cost reduction in line with the company procedures.
To create and provide timely reports and data analysis.
To ensure accurate filing and updating of records.
To maintain effective and professional relationships with suppliers and work colleagues from all departments within the organisation.
To carry out other duties that may reasonably be required.
Person Specification Attributes Preferred Skills & Experience Essential: Strong organization and administration skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel.
High level of accuracy, with strong attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
