Purchasing Assistant – Plymouth An opportunity has arisen for a Purchasing Assistant to join a well established and reputable sub-contractor on a permanent basis.
This company provide a range of Fire Safety services to a range of clients.
As a Purchasing Assistant you will work closely and effectively with the purchasing team, in order to support the project managers ensure a timely delivery of stock to customer sites.
You will be confident in negotiations and talking with a variety or suppliers to achieve the best possible price This position will be office based, full time, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities: Liaising with suppliers and internal departments Negotiations with suppliers  Conducting Supplier reviews  Purchasing per project based on the bill of quantities within the budget set Reactive purchasing based on on-site requisitions  Meeting deadlines for goods to get to site  Resolving account queries and ordering issues  Carrying out tender exercises annually, per spend category Skills: Background in construction/understanding of construction materials desirable   Excellent attention to detail, able to gather, interpret and present data Excellent communication skills, both internally and externally Highly organised Negotiation skills Strong IT skills including Excel Ideally come from a buying/procurement background  If you would like to discuss, please do call RGB Recruitment Exeter and ask for Nicky Harris.
