Purchasing Assistant Location:  Newcastle-Under-Lyme Hours: Monday to Friday - 8am - 3pm Salary: £22,000.00 Job type: 12 month fixed term contract   Role Overview:  Our client is seeking a motivated Purchasing Assistant to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop a career in procurement and supply chain management, as full training will be provided.
  Key Responsibilities: Assisting in the preparation and processing of purchase orders for goods and services Communicating with suppliers to obtain quotes, negotiate terms, and confirm delivery dates Monitoring stock levels and reorder products as necessary to ensure continuous availability Tracking and maintaining records of all orders, deliveries, and supplier invoices Ensuring compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures Supporting inventory management by assisting with stock checks and reporting discrepancies Assisting with the evaluation and selection of new suppliers or vendors Maintaining accurate files and documentation for audit purposes Working closely with other departments, such as finance and operations, to resolve any purchasing-related issues Providing general administrative support to the purchasing team as required   Required Skills and Qualifications: Strong administration and customer service skills Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks in a high volume, fast-paced environment Good communication skills, both written and verbal Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn Full training will be provided   Interested?
