Purchasing Assistant

My clients team is expanding, and I am searching for a Purchasing Assistant based in Ashington.
Must be able to drive due to the clients location.
The Role: Purchasing Assistant The Hours: Monday - Friday 08:00 - 17:30 (Leave at 5 on a rota basis) Location: Ashington Salary: £30,000 - £32,000 Job role * Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs * Research potential vendors * Liaise with suppliers to get quotes * Evaluate offers from vendors and negotiate best costs * Place orders to support Sales and Production * Track orders to ensure timely delivery in line with the needs of the business * Responsible for purchase orders maintenance * Negotiate best value in all transactions * Maintain updated records in company system * Build and maintain strong relationships internally and externally * Process suppliers returns Candidate requirements: * At least 3 years' experience working as a Purchasing Assistant or similar role * Good understanding of supply chain procedures * Hands-on experience with purchasing software * Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and good general knowledge of MS Office suite * Knowledge of market research * Solid organisational and time management skills * High accuracy and attention to detail * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Excellent customer service skills * Good analytical and problem-solving skills * Fast learner Benefits In addition to the competitive base salary and uncapped bonus potential, we offer the following benefits: * 20 days of holiday plus bh * Pension * Bonus £1,200 * Training
