Purchase Ledger Clerk Plymouth, Devon Temporary, Immediate Start £24,000 - £26,750 per annum Our client, a reputable company based in Plymouth, is currently seeking a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their team on an ongoing temporary, full-time basis, with an immediate start required.
As the Purchase Ledger Clerk, you will oversee all aspects of the company's purchase ledger function, ensuring that supplier invoices and payments are processed accurately and in compliance with company terms and policies.
The responsibilities: Post daily cash and bank transactions in the cashbook and nominal ledger (excluding sales ledger).
Conduct monthly reconciliations for cash, bank, and supplier statements.
Process month-end journals and intercompany invoice reconciliations.
Manage supplier communications, including invoices, credit notes, and queries.
Reconcile daily stock delivery reports with purchase orders and invoices.
Process supplier payments and maintain purchase ledger accuracy.
Oversee staff financial documentation, including overtime and expense requests, ensuring management approval.
Provide administrative support to the accounts department, addressing inquiries and processing credit card payments.
The candidate: Experience in an accounting environment, focusing on purchase ledger processing and cash/bank management.
Proficient in accounting software, particularly Sage, with strong computer skills.
Skilled in processing foreign currency transactions and handling foreign exchange differences.
Strong attention to detail in financial reporting, with solid numerical and literacy skills.
Proven ability to meet deadlines and perform well under pressure.
