Pupil Support Assistant

Job DescriptionAssist teachers in promoting achievement and raising the standards of pupil attainment and provide general support in relation to the needs of the class and individuals' care, health and wellbeing and safety; to ensure a secure and safe environment.
There is a requirement to be flexible in school location within the cluster, according to individual circumstances and work with a range of pupils from P1 – S6.There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.Duties will include helping support pupils at break and lunchtime, as well as academic support required in class.
The hours covered would be 10.30am to 1.30pm, Monday to Friday, term time.Position available as job share opportunity, can be discussed further at interview stage.This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act .
The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.
Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required.
You will be required to provide this check.
