Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Public Health Nursing Team for a Band 3 Public Health Nurse Assistant to join our National Childhood Measurement Programme (NCMP), Vision and Hearing Screening Team.This post will be for hours a week.
You will be joining a high functioning, motivated team who work across the Isle of Wight in Primary Schools and community settings, carrying out height, weight, vision, and hearing screening.Full training will be given for this post.
Successful candidates should have good communication skills and be able to work independently and in a team.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate their suitability for working with Children and have an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or be prepared to work towards one.
You will need to have a full driving licence and access to a car to travel around the Island.
Main duties of the job To work with the 0-19 Public Health Nursing Team to promote good health in school aged children through the delivery of the National Childhood Measurement Programme, Vision and Hearing screening, and supporting and delivering public health initiatives in school where deemed appropriate, such as handwashing, teeth care and healthy eating.
