Day to day, we want you to:
Experiment with new technologies and test ideas to generate innovative solutions for our customersCollaborate with our customers, vendors and other tech teams to build simple, available and scalable solutionsEngineer public and private cloud products that are safe, secure and sustainableUtilise infrastructure as code (IaC) to develop, deploy and scale cloud applications and products with greater speed, less risk, and reduced costsEncourage the use of automation to provide testing and a route to go-live for new productsJoin technology communities of practice across the bank to share engineering best practice and experienceUse market insights to introduce innovative ideas and drive the delivery of these through to product featuresMaintain engineered products by responding to customer feedback, new feature requests, production issues, and customer help requestsCoach and mentor other engineers and collaborate on developmental activitiesThe skills you'll needWe're a diverse team with broad skillsets, a passion for learning, and an unwavering customer focus. Your technical skillset might include:
Demonstrate expert experience in GCP (ideally GCP Solution Architect certification)Demonstrate a strong experience DevOps automation and tools like Terraform, IaC, Python, and GitLabDemonstrate Software development or scripting skillsPractical experience of the SDLC and testingA strong understanding of Agile methodologies and toolsets such as JiraA strong knowledge across the Infrastructure stack such as server, operating system, virtualisation, database, middleware or networkAnd you'll bring this all together with your:
Strong technical/leadership skills and ability to contribute to strategic visions including setting strategy, roadmaps and designGreat collaboration and stakeholder management skillsCapacity to focus on the customer and empathise with themAbility to clearly explain technical concepts to different audiencesExperience of contributing to roadmaps and strategiesDrive to make sure that solutions have security considered from the outset
