The Role An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit for a role at the heart of the Law Society's campaigning and political influencing activity.

The Law Society is the independent professional body for over 200,000 solicitors in England and Wales.

With a new government in place, there is huge opportunity to influence the political debate, driving important issues such as access to justice, the rule of law and supporting a thriving legal business sector up the agenda and influence on behalf of our members.

This is an exciting role at the heart of our busy public affairs team, leading on our influencing and lobbying work on behalf of our members.

As a Public Affairs Adviser you will lead on the development and delivery of public affairs plans for specific policy areas, and to support other core team functions such as campaigns, speechwriting, political monitoring and stakeholder management.

This is an exciting and varied role where your expertise and knowledge will be used to great effect to make a real impact for our members. What we're looking for We're looking for candidates with a keen interest in politics and campaigning.

You will have significant experience of working within a government, parliamentary, public affairs, campaigns or related environment.

You will possess an avid interest in politics with a thorough knowledge of the political process and the workings of Parliament.

You will have the ability to collaborate effectively with a broad and diverse range of people within the Society and externally coupled with excellent written skills with the ability to communicate complex issues and develop innovative ways of communicating.

You will also have experience of planning and managing successful public affairs campaigns.
