One of a kind opportunity to develop a new Advanced Pharmacist role in MorayWe are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and forward thinking pharmacist to develop this one of a kind new post in Moray.
We have a full time, permanent vacancy (37 hours) to provide support across Moray's Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol services.
This includes bases in both Dr Gray's Hospital (DGH) and Moray Integrated Drug and Alcohol Service (MIDAS).You will be supported by the Lead Pharmacist in DGH with professional support from the Lead Pharmacists for both Substance Use and Mental Health in Grampian.
You will be responsible for coordinating and delivering highly specialised clinical pharmacy services to support people who are seeking treatment for alcohol and drug use or mental health.
You will help streamline access to care by supporting people to access those services they need as an inpatient in DGH, an outpatient of the mental health or drug and alcohol services or transferring back to primary care for ongoing support.
You will be critical in smoothing transition between services, breaking down barriers to people accessing the support they need.The post offers an exciting opportunity to influence and develop this new role whilst actively supporting and improving the health of people accessing services.
You will to take a lead role in supporting multi-disciplinary staff with medicines optimisation to deliver high quality, evidence based pharmaceutical care and advice in line with national clinical guidance.
Strengthening links with the wider teams in DGH, local GP practices and community pharmacies will be key to your success.We are looking for an experienced pharmacist with good clinical knowledge and the ability to work effectively as part of a team in different multidisciplinary environments.
You will have a good understanding of the unique challenges that are faced by people who use drugs or alcohol or who experience mental illness, providing a patient centred approach to care and challenging stigma where it arises.
You will also be required to take an active role in the supervision, support and training of staff and students across the mental health and substance use teams, to act as a role model and to participate in audit and research.
