LEAD ASSET MANAGER – CLIENT SIDE Humber Region Associated British Ports (ABP) We have been mandated to source a Lead Asset Manager for Associated British Ports (ABP), the UK's leading port owner and operator.
ABP operates a network of 21 ports, handling a quarter of the UK's seaborne trade and contributing £7.5 billion annually to the UK economy.
With an annual property revenue of £136 million and a strategic land bank of 1,800 acres, ABP Property is the UK's largest port-related property operator.

About the Role The Lead Asset Manager will play a critical role in delivering value-enhancing initiatives for ABP's property portfolio.
This role requires identifying and capitalising on opportunities within 650 acres of development land in the Humber, ensuring alignment with ABP's ambitious revenue growth and sustainability objectives.
Key Responsibilities: Identify underutilised parcels of land and develop strategies to increase their value.
Proactively engage with existing customers, negotiating lettings to meet their evolving needs while ensuring back-to-back agreements.
Maximise ABP's capital value by restructuring leases, exploring early surrender opportunities, and optimising operational land use.
Identify and evaluate nearby land parcels or buildings for strategic acquisition, including sale-and-leaseback opportunities.
Lead asset management initiatives from concept to execution, forming and managing cross-functional project teams.
Collaborate with the Lead Property Development Manager to identify new business opportunities and acquisitions aligned with ABP's strategy.
Drive sustainability initiatives and ensure projects align with ABP's environmental objectives.
Develop best practice processes for property asset management in collaboration with regional teams.
Qualifications and Experience: MRICS-qualified with demonstrable experience in asset management across the UK.
Strong expertise in delivering end-to-end value-added initiatives.
Analytical and financially literate, with the ability to interpret complex data and articulate business cases clearly.
Proactive and tenacious with a customer-focused approach.
Experienced in engaging and negotiating with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
Knowledge of operational risk in industrial/logistics/port sectors.
Skills & Competencies: Strong communication, planning, and prioritisation skills.
Confident in challenging the status quo and proposing innovative solutions.
Team-oriented, capable of mentoring junior colleagues and fostering collaboration.
Networking expertise with the ability to operate in diverse cultural environments.
