Job title: Programme Support Officer Contract length: 6 months Location: East London, E16 (on site 1-2 days per week) Pay rate: £25.00 per hour (contract to 35 hours per week) Role Summary: Provides proactive support to the Programme Manager on large-scale, complex transformation initiatives.
This includes managing change initiatives that span systems, processes, and cultural adaptation.
The role demands high autonomy, advanced problem-solving, and the ability to drive the programme forward without frequent direction, impacting the entire transformation's success.
Responsibilities and previous experience required in: Stakeholder Engagement Builds strong relationships with a wide range of high influence stakeholders, fostering alignment on complex programme goals specific to the transformation programme.
Anticipates and addresses challenges to buy-in and adoption, aligning varied interests and managing resistance across departments.
Governance Compliance Manages compliance independently, ensuring all programme decisions and documentation align with transformation-specific governance standards and strategic goals, as well as any relevant PMO frameworks and standards.
This includes navigating governance structures that impact both academic and administrative areas, and driving compliance to mitigate risks associated with student welfare and data integrity.
Communication and Reporting Develops in-depth reports assessing the programme's impact on student experience, operational alignment, and organisational efficiency, tailored to diverse audiences.
Translates complex data and programme updates into accessible insights for diverse audiences, from student representatives to senior academic staff.
Risk and Issue Management Identifies and documents complex risks related to cultural change, student data, and compliance, proactively developing and, where appropriate, managing tailored mitigation strategies for the transformation programme.
Workshop and Meeting Facilitation Plans, schedules, supports, facilitates and (where appropriate) leads workshops focused on transformational objectives (e.g., stakeholder alignment, change readiness) involving cross-functional groups from student services, academic departments, and IT.
Programme Documentation Develops extensive programme documentation including standard project & programme documentation but also including transformation elements e.g.
cultural impacts, student journey adjustments, and process changes.
Financial Tracking and Budgeting Supports the programme / project manager in hands-on management and reporting of programme budget, ensuring resources are optimally aligned with the programme's transformation objectives.
Change Management Expertise Support and where required lead change management activities within the programme, guiding departments through cultural and operational shifts required by the transformation.
