Project ManagerRail & Civil Engineering Location – CumbernauldAn exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join our team in the Scotland region, responsible for leading the delivery of portfolio of rail infrastructure projects and associated civil engineering works.Business UnitA busy and fast paced project and maintenance environment involving in a range of multi-disciplinary civil engineering projects, working for a varied range of clients including Local Authorities, Network Rail and Environmental.Projects can typically include civil engineering works and infrastructure projects such as:Highways & Roads, underbridges, overbridges and footbridges, tunnels, flood alleviation & repairs, earthworks & embankments and rail platforms and station infrastructure etc.We currently have a number of live infrastructure projects and long term renewals and maintenance frameworks underway including Civils Asset Management (CAM), Renewals Enhancement Framework (REF) and a Slabtrack framework.The RoleAs Project Manager you will be directly responsible leading the teams on a portfolio of rail infrastructure / improvement projects in the Scotland business region.
The Project Manager will be directly responsible for the daily management of various rail and civil engineering projects within our portfolio work in the region.
You will be responsible for leading successful contract delivery, by ensuring that the site team are fully appraised of the contract parameters and have the capability and resources necessary to achieve contract objectives.Day to day responsibilities including but not limited to:Involvement/input in projects at all stages from pre-qualifying and tendering through to completion.Ensuring that the site team are fully apprised of the contract parameters and have the capability and resources necessary to achieve contract objectives.Ensuring that the contract is executed in accordance with the requirements of:All applicable legislationThe Terms and Conditions of the contractThe Contract Health and Safety PlanThe Contract Quality/Environmental PlanDelivery of the contract within programme and budget.Control and management of subcontract resources to the highest levels of safety, quality and efficiency.The continuous monitoring of contract progress to ensure contract objectives are being met.Ensuring that, in conjunction with the Project Delivery Team, changes to the contract are identified, agreed and effectively managed.The provision of formal reports on contract progress to the Framework Manager.To identify business development opportunities.RequirementsTo excel in this role, you will have previous experience as a Project Manager in a rail and civil engineering environment.Degree / HNC or HND in civil engineering (or equivalent compensating experience in a technical engineering role)Network Rail CRE or Mentoring towards CRE sign off.Experience as a Project Manager in a rail contracting environment.Experience in rail working on civils associated projects.PTS / SMSTSIn returnCompetitive annual salary negotiable dependant on experienceCompany Car or Car Allowance25 days holiday plus bank holidays (increasing with service)Up to 3 volunteer daysCompany contributory Pension schemeLife InsurancePrivate medical insurance (Family)Westfield Health Cash Plan & Westfield RewardsGenerous Employee referral schemeSupport and employee infrastructure embedded in the business as a platform for personal and professional development creating pathways for unrivalled career development and progression opportunities internally.Consistent learning opportunitiesA safe place to workEmployee forum's that provide a platform for having your voice heard
