First People Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to join a leading civil engineering contractor working on a major Rail Civils Renewal Framework in Scotland. This role is key to the successful delivery of projects, with values ranging from £500k to £3m, including bridge replacements, culvert works, and more.
The Role:
As Project Manager, you'll be responsible for leading the teams on a portfolio of rail infrastructure/improvement projects in the Scotland business region. You'll report directly to the Contracts Manager and will work closely with both the pre-contracts and site teams to ensure successful project delivery from inception to completion. While based primarily in the office, regular site visits are required, and occasional weekend work will be necessary due to the nature of the rail industry.
Key Responsibilities: Full lifecycle project management from estimating and pre-contracts through to delivery on site and completion. Ensure all projects meet H&S, quality, and commercial targets. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure satisfaction. Travel to project sites across Scotland and manage teams to deliver work to a high standard. What We're Looking For: Degree/HNC or HND in civil engineering (or equivalent compensating experience in a technical engineering role). Strong civils experience, ideally within a rail or infrastructure environment. Previous experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with a civil engineering contractor. Network Rail CRE or mentoring towards CRE sign off is desirable but not essential. What's in it for you:
Attractive annual salary and benefits package including car, pension, health cover, overtime rates and living away allowance.
If you're an experienced Project Manager with a strong civils background and are ready for a new challenge, we'd love to hear from you!
Equal Opportunities:
First People Solutions is committed to equal opportunities regardless of gender, race, disability, sexual orientation, religion or belief and age.
