Description Project Manager We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Project Manager to join our team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will provide direct support to the Programme Manager and Leadership team to successfully deliver varied scopes of work to our customers in Scotland. This position is a full time, permanent role and applicants must have BPSS clearance as a minimum. Ad-hoc travel may be required to various customer and Leidos sites.
THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY
You will report to the Programme Lead/Programme Manager and will be responsible for leading a cross functional team to deliver against programme commitments.
Your Role and Responsibilities: Manage multiple small projects of varying timescales and value (up to £5m) in support of the overall programme delivery Develop robust plans in order to meet programme and customer commitments Manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors Track performance against plan, identify and execute plans to mitigate blockers Identify and manage Risks, Issues and Opportunities Communicate status to programme leadership, escalating as needed Manage key stakeholders to align expectations Candidates also need to have experience showing individual contribution or leadership within the following Business Lifecycle phases:
Business Development Activities/Customer Engagement to shape requirements and offers Mobilisation of contracts Developing and delivering On Contract Growth (additional funded work beyond original contract scope) Exit and contract close out Project intervention, problem resolution and Return to Green (RTG) planning for at risk projects PROFILE
You will be self-motivated and be able to work autonomously and also within a team to achieve day to day objectives on project, programme and operational deliverables, whilst also owning a variety of activities to ensure project/programme milestones, KPI's and SLA's are met. You must be an effective communicator, who is comfortable directly engaging with customers and colleagues. You must also demonstrate an analytical and systematic approach to project and technical challenges.
Required Skills: Proven track record successfully managing multiple small projects/programmes Able to demonstrate experience (minimum 5 years) in Project Management Able to demonstrate experience in management of technical software delivery projects Experience in Agile, DevOps and Waterfall models of delivery cycles Good interpersonal skills and judgement for dealing with both internal and external stakeholders to develop strong working relations to support achieving objectives Able to engage effectively within a multi-functional programme team comprising both customer, supplier and Leidos staff Able to demonstrate a sound understanding of business, finance and personnel management techniques Able to communicate, negotiate and influence effectively at all levels Ability to motivate and develop staff Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Desirable Experience: Public sector experience would be advantageous Experience of ITIL/Service Management methodologies Certified to APM, Prince 2 or Agile Prince 2 What we do for you:
