High performance starts with you.Purpose of the Role:To manage a project portfolio of race car parts within in-house work centres under the guidance from a Project Manager.
Principal Accountabilities:Detailed planning and task management including loading of productionroutings and work ordersReconciliation and management of demand in support of race, test and development programmesCapacity planning in support of the make v buy strategyInvolved in the decision-making process to manufacture in-house or sub-contract in order to achieve requirement dates in the most risk managed and cost-effective mannerLiaison within the supply chain to support project delivery (in some instances this will involve the creation of purchase orders)Ownership and Management of a project portfolio of work to ensure all your work is on plan and progressing through all operations as requiredWork with the Quality team to ensure project risks are mitigated ahead of launch and all work is being managed within processes outlinedDeliver programmes within the Key Performance Indicator targetsProvide support to other teams as work load dictatesAny other tasks as required by the CompanyJob requirementsKnowledge, Skills and Experience:Degree qualified in related discipline or equivalent experienceAn understanding of the commercial side of low volume small batch manufactureExperience in a similar position within a high-precision manufacturing environment (ideally metallics and composites)Experience of continuous improvement techniques would be a distinct advantage Personal Attributes:The candidate must be responsible, calm, focussed and motivated, whilst demonstrating a proactive, organized, and flexible approach to changing priorities.They will be expected to work with a high attention to detail.They must be professional and capable of communicating at all levels, both internally and externally.Ability to independently prioritise a demanding workload, and overcome obstacles or problems should they arise, managing stakeholders' expectations accordingly.Capability to lead and influence within a dynamic organisation.Able to act under pressure with calmness, clarity of thought and decisive authority.Strong communicator and influencer.A flexible and adaptable approach to working practices and associated hours is necessary.

McLaren Racing is based at the iconic McLaren Technology Centre (MTC) near Woking.
