Job summary We are looking for an experienced and passionate Professional Lead for Occupational Therapy toprovide professional leadership for the Occupational Therapy (OT), Adult Education and Health and Fitness staff within the Forensic and Prison Services of Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust and enable strategic development of the profession in accordance with national and local NHS guidance.
We provide mental health care in secure settings, and the community, for men and women whose needs relate to their mental health, learning disabilities & autism, and risk.
Main duties of the job The post holder will be accountable for the professional and clinical performance of OT staff and will perform a representative and advisory role within the Forensic and Prison Service for matters relating to OT.
To offer advice to Heads of Service and other professions on the role of OT, staffing levels and skills mix.

Person Specification Knowledge Essential Significant post qualification experience in a senior clinical role within a relevant field Knowledge of Forensic Mental Health/in-patient mental health services.
Caseload management including highly complex conditions & cases Service development work in relevant area of practice Supervision of OT students and other professionals Able to persuade & influence in highly complex and difficult situations with sensitivity.
Desirable Team Management Qualifications/Academic/Skills Essential Health & Care Professions Council Registered with Dip COT qualification or degree.
Highly developed specialist knowledge, skills and experience in a relevant clinical field.
Working towards or prepared to undertake a Master's degree programme.
