Professional Head of HSESalary: Location: London

Our client, a main contractor, is seeking an experienced Head of HSE.
The role will require regular attendance at the Swindon HQ (est. 2-3 days per week) plus regular travel to project sites and external bodies/clients for meetings. Most of these will be in London for the foreseeable future. Ideally, suitable candidates will live somewhere off the M4/M40 corridors.

Essential: Chartered H&S professional (CMIOSH)In-depth knowledge of Rail HS&E requirements.Experienced leading HS&E within the Rail construction environmentExperienced leading HS&E in major multi-discipline construction projectsExperienced in accident/incident investigation and determining root causesThorough knowledge of H&S and Environmental statutory legislation and how to implement themIIRCA certified internal auditor (HS&E)Thorough knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001Able to work collaboratively with the HTUK teams, clients, stakeholders/interested parties, and supply chain.Knowledge of the CDM regulationAble to lead the HS&E teams in a challenging environmentAble to communicate effectively at all levelsAble to deliver HS&E training to employees and subcontractorsDesirable: NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental ManagementIRCA certified lead auditor (HS&E)Computer literateKnowledge of the TfL QUENSH condition/requirementsExperienced in high-risk construction environments e.g., nuclear/oil and gasNational certificate or equivalent in Fire Safety and Risk assessmentExperienced in RISQS auditing/managementRail infrastructure continues to be a primary market for our client, but they are tendering for major tunnelling (Silvertown, London Power Tunnels) and highways (A465 Heads of Valleys) projects.
