The role involves coordinating and optimising resources across the factories to meet the agreed production plan efficiently and ensuring that quality and health and safety standards are at the forefront of everything we do.
Accountabilities * Safe, efficient and timely delivery of high-quality products within cost and carbon reduction targets * Efficient delivery of agreed production plan * Compliance with agreed quality standards and QA/QC processes across all factories * Material sourcing and labour resourcing to meet production plan * Health and Safety, wellbeing, performance, development and management of all factory operations and operatives Roles and responsibilities * Managing effective and efficient production processes and operations, ensuring the safe transportation and delivery of modules to site * Setting up, maintaining and driving delivery of the production plan in each factory, including weekly plan-do-check-act meetings with factory managers * Recruitment, retention and training of required workforce to deliver the production plan in accordance with the agreed budgets and quality standards (S.O.Ps) * Ensure production teams are working to latest design information and standards * Work with other departments to make sure that materials and sub-contractors are available on time to meet the production plan * Optimise resource allocation and utilisation across factories to maximize efficiency and productivity whilst maintaining one team ethos * Ensure compliance with quality control standards and procedures, including SOP's and Factory Hold Points * Embed and drive lean manufacturing principles in ways of working for the production team * Maintain good progress records, communicate effectively and manage change in the production plan so that all production teams are clear on their priorities at all times * Ensure a safe working environment and compliance with relevant Health, Safety and Environmental regulations * Monitor, manage and control performance of each factory (time, productivity, cost, quality, H&S and carbon reduction) * Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production-related issues * Manage and develop a high-performing production team * Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices * Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors * Lead and inspire the factory team, creating a strong sense of purpose, belonging openness and pride in the quality of work delivered.
Key skills * Strong leadership and people management skills * Analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision-making * Strong understanding of production management principles and best practices * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines * Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills * Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills * Proficiency in production planning software and tools Benefits include 25 days Holiday (pro-rata) - 3 are kept back for Christmas as the office is closed between Christmas and New Year.
