We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Production Line Picker to join our food production team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for selecting and packing food produce items accurately and efficiently from the production line.
This role requires a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with strict adherence to food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities Picking and Packing: Select and pack food produce items according to specifications and quality standards.
Ensure that picked items are free from defects and meet company quality requirements.
Label and package products correctly and efficiently.
Material Handling: Load and unload products onto and off the production line.
Organise and stage materials for easy access during the picking process.
Quality Control: Perform visual inspections to identify any issues or defects in the products.
Report any discrepancies or quality issues to the Production Supervisor.
Maintenance and Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organised work area in accordance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Documentation: Accurately record picking data and maintain logs as required.
Complete any required paperwork and ensure records are up to date.
Skills and Abilities: Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with colleagues.
Basic understanding of food production processes and quality standards.
Ability to follow instructions and adhere to strict safety and quality standards.
Physical Requirements Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
Comfortable working in a temperature-controlled environment (hot or cold, depending on the type of food produce).
Additional Requirements Willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts and overtime as needed.
This role is Monday to Friday.
Shifts will vary from 6am starts to 9am starts – 8 hour shifts.
Candidates will be expected to provide a valid passport, Right to Work (RTW) documents, 5-year background references, and a DBS certificate (the cost will be covered by the company).
Compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations, including wearing appropriate protective clothing and equipment.
