As a Product Use Case Lead within the NHS Federated Data Platform team, you will take a pivotal role in shaping and delivering digital transformation across the NHS.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development of cutting-edge products that address critical healthcare challenges, improve patient outcomes, and empower frontline staff with transformative data-driven tools.

The Federated Data Platform: NHS England's Data and Analytics Directorate is driving the transformation to put patients in control of their data, support clinicians, decision-makers, and researchers with real-time, high-quality data, and empower the NHS Data Community to leverage their skills for high-value opportunities.
We pride ourselves on our dedication, creativity, and values-driven approach to improving decision-making across health and care, helping people live healthier, longer lives.

The NHS relies on data every day to manage patient care and plan services, but it is often stored in systems that don't communicate with each other, creating burdens for both patients and staff.
The Federated Data Platform connects existing NHS systems, allowing each Trust and Integrated Care Board to manage their own customised version, enhancing data integration and care coordination.

Job Purpose: The Product Use Case Lead will spearhead the development and management of specific product domains within the Federated Data Platform, ensuring alignment with NHS priorities and the overarching FDP goals.
This role will involve leading a team of Product Managers, engaging with stakeholders, and leveraging data-driven insights to deliver high-impact solutions that address critical challenges in healthcare delivery.

Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of Product Managers, overseeing the full product lifecycle from concept and incubation to pilot, general availability, and ongoing iteration.
Ensure products meet high standards of quality, usability, and impact.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clinicians, operational leaders, data scientists, suppliers, and other key stakeholders.
Effectively communicate product vision and progress to diverse audiences.
Leverage data and analytics to track product performance, measure impact, and identify areas for improvement.
Champion a data-informed culture within the team.
Essential Skills & Experience: Extensive experience and advanced understanding of agile methodologies and other structured programme management approaches.
Significant experience in user-centred service design practices for both public-facing and internal services.
Proven ability to lead large, multidisciplinary teams and deliver results in complex environments.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence at all levels.
Advanced problem-solving capabilities with a track record of delivering high-impact solutions within tight deadlines.
Desirable Experience: Experience with design and development techniques for digital services, including user research and platform-specific methodologies.
Knowledge of public sector procurement and contracting frameworks.
Background in delivering projects within NHS or healthcare settings.
Qualifications: Educated to master's level or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
Relevant certifications in product management or programme management (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner) are advantageous.
Benefits You'll Enjoy: Band 8D salary range (£88, 168 - £101, 677 per annum) dependent on experience and the number of years you have worked within the NHS.
Starting with 27 days of annual leave, increasing to 29 days after 5 years and 33 days after 10 years of service, plus bank holidays.
A confidential support service offering practical information, legal advice, and professional counselling to help you cope with personal, family, or workplace issues.
