Job Title: Group Product & Transformation Director Location: Liverpool or Glasgow Contract Type: Permanent Reporting to: Chief Operating Officer The Role Accountable to the COO for ensuring that the Group has an effective Product & Transformation function which meets the requirements of the business and delivers both BAU change as determined by the business unit sponsors and transformational change as determined by the Group Executive Committee.
Outcomes of the Role Responsible for ensuring that planning, budgeting and reporting are in place to ensure Product and Transformational change is delivered on time and to budget, with benefits and outcomes realised.Accountable for ensuring delivery on the vision for change so that there is clear, co-ordinated and well understood change delivery to help enable the firm's strategy.Accountable for ensuring, that alongside the other COO Directors that Product and Transformation operates effectively within the COO function delivering service excellence for Rathbones as a Group.Accountable for leading a team of c76 people across multiple locations with c4-5 direct reports.Accountable for delivery of a multi-million pound year on year BAU and Transformational change delivery budget.Planning Ensure there are appropriate planning forums in place to create a strategic change plan in support of the overall business strategy across both BAU product change and transformational programmes.Ensure all new initiatives have a clear business case, are prioritised against all existing change and are assigned the correct deliver model.Ensure all change delivery, including local, Product led, and Transformational programmes are aligned to strategic objectives / business operating model, with cost/benefit tracking.Ensure there is clear change management framework in place based on local business change, agile/product-based change and strategic change.Ensure there is Transformation Office capability in place to create, own & track delivery against one single transformation delivery plan for the firm.Periodically review the overall Product & Transformation function to ensure that it continues to remain adequately resourced with appropriate skills and expertise to support the firm's ongoing Product & Transformation Programme.Ensure alignment to and discharge of any responsibilities as called out in the COO reasonable steps framework on behalf of the COO.Delivery Ensure delivery teams are in place to support strategic priority programme delivery and Product Teams.Work with the Technology Director to ensure the appropriate 'Business Design' capability is in place to support Product and Transformational change.Ensure that the Product, Transformation and Local delivery plans align to enable both BAU, strategic and local business delivery to take place.Ensure that Product and Transformation partners with and gains delivery support from Technology to ensure successful delivery.Ensure change is delivered on time, to the right level of quality and to budget.Ensure business readiness is in place, owned by local delivery teams and aligned to the overall Product and transformation plan, to ensure change is embedded and benefits realised.Ensure delivery is successfully quantified and improved via measuring success within the Rathbones Corporate Culture Dashboard on "Our attitude" to change metrics.Ensure that the User, Client and Advisor Experience is taken account of for all change delivery.Business Engagement, Innovation and Communication Deliver on the vision for change so that there is clear, co-ordinated and well understood change delivery to help enable the firm's strategy.Accountable for business engagement and to ensure regular change communications are in place and delivered to all key stakeholders.Ensure complete and accurate management information regarding the progress of change delivery against plan to the COO Operating Committee and the Group Executive Committee/Board.Accountable for driving forward innovation across all teams, in support of service excellence.Governance Ensure that there is a clear risk appetite for all change delivery, with ongoing risk engagement and monitoring via appropriate KRIs.Attend and actively participate in the Transformation Office Programme Board Meeting reporting on the status of ongoing projects ensuring that all risks, including conduct risks, are identified and mitigation plans put in place and are monitored.Prepare and submit adequate management information to the Group Executive Committee and Executive Risk Committee detailing updates on the firm's Change Management Delivery including Progress of ongoing projects/programmes and Status of overall Change Management plan.Ensure that, for each Product or Programme, the following are established and approved:A signed off set out outcomes and expected benefits.A detailed total "cost of delivery" budget / business case.Detailed resourcing plan across all group resources to ensure successful completion of the project/programme, including skills and expertise needed.Clear accountability and responsibility for the delivery of each aspect of the project/programme.Appropriate governance is in place in the form of appropriate steering committees, which report into the business unit and / or Transformation Office Programme Board.Responsibility for supporting the identification, assessment, mitigation and monitoring of operational and conduct risks, in the function, in accordance with the firm's risk appetite statement.Ensure adherence to the risk management policy and procedures, including expected standards of internal control across the function.Ensure that direct reports monitor and control their areas of responsibility.Review & monitor the Change Management Governance and Control frameworks (i.e. supplier controls, financial management, risk management, service improvement, etc).Lead and control the budgeting and headcount planning and tracking for the relevant areas.Ensure clear business case delivery and financial benefit tracking is in place for all change and transformation delivery.Business Strategy & Reporting Report monthly to the COO Operating Committee on areas of accountability, including MI, highlighting areas of concern to colleagues and advising them of critical issues.Contribute towards the continuing development of the Group by establishing and participating in projects, committees and other activities as required from time to time.Provide monthly reports for an Executive audience.Undertake a periodic meeting with the COO to ensure that all issues and matters requiring attention are escalated on a timely basis.Leadership Build and lead teams, monitoring and appraising their actions, performance, and ensuring that their development and training needs are met.Take responsibility for ensuring the continuing professional development of direct reports. Develop direct reports with a view to succession and contingency.Fully meet the requirements of the Rathbone's Competencies and Values.Act as the final escalation point when the COO is not available.Leads, motivates and manages the Product and transformation teams, ensuring a culture of high performance & continuous improvement.Improve engagement and performance by demonstrating intent-based leadership.Professional Development Take responsibility for ensuring personal continuing professional development.Ensuring that the development & training needs of direct reports are monitored, appraised & met.
