Thales OME designs a range of state-of-the-art solutions for some of the most technically advanced defence and security platforms in the world, and we are seeking an experienced product support engineer who can apply their knowledge and skills to support our Customers and our equipment.
Our Opportunity As a Product Support Engineer, you will be the first point of contact for post-design technical queries supporting our colleagues within Industry, and our external Customers.
LR grade is dependent on experience.
Key responsibilities of the role The role will include the following activities: Lead and participate in fault-finding activities, technical investigations, reviews and improvement projects on complex Optronics products Investigate and address obsolescence, reliability and supportability issues arising within the product Engage with a multi-disciplinary team across the projects to develop and implement an optimum solution to any technical issues Represent the company in technical interactions with external organisations Develop an understanding of the domain in which the product will be used Documenting findings, results and report writing About you We are looking for a proactive and motivated individual qualified in Electronics or a relevant STEM subject to either Degree level or HND with industry experience Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work under pressure, as part of the larger support and engineering teams.
Experience in the use of standard test equipment Location The position will be based at the Thales site in Glasgow.
This role will require SC Clearance.
It would be advantageous if currently held, however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant will undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance.
