About The Role We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic professional to join our team, taking on responsibility for developing and leading the vision and development for our medical VR training simulations. You will work closely with the development team of engineers, artists, medical, educational and UI/UX designers to produce realistic, immersive, valuable content. You will enjoy the support of your colleagues and our open culture, where what we learn from our failures is as important as our successes.
What You Will Do Oversee all stages of development across engineering, design and art, whilst also collaborating with peers to ensure a consistent FVR productListen to what the stakeholders want and establish what they needOwn the vision & goals of the product and mimic the main user of the productWork with client success manager (CSM) to understand and balance stakeholder priorities along with the needs of the business and manage expectations accordinglyDevelop and nurture shared understanding of the vision within the development team, to avoid out of sync situationsAssess value and prioritise user stories and acceptance criteria to ensure delivery of maximum value and alignment with the wider business product strategyBe the primary information broker managing lines of communication between stakeholders and development teamBe familiar with UX for Instructional design and consult on the product's core design to align it with stakeholder requirementsWork collaboratively with the development team to produce a value focussed, rather than feature focussed, product, whilst being diligent about feature creepDevise and communicate roadmaps, backlog strategies and prioritisation plans so as to provide clear direction for the team and visibility for internal and external stakeholdersIdentify, raise, track and mitigate risks to the projects and successful completion of sprint goals and releasesFollow and advocate the use of best practices e.g. Stages and Gates, coding standards, bug triaging, Scrum ceremonies etc.Understand the product's position in the market in which it will be used, including current and future alternatives and competitive productsWhat We Are Looking For Demonstrable experience as a Product Owner/Producer/Lead Designer/Software ArchitectExperience of successful delivery of products under Waterfall, PRINCE2 (Stages and Gates) and Agile frameworksWell versed with managing budgets, balancing expectations and aligning workloadsWell versed with 3D development pipelines and Unity EnginePrevious experience of VR development, its challenges and limitationsDegree in Science, Engineering or similar relevant fieldDeep inclination for research and learning in MedTechOutstanding communication, presentation and leadership skillsExcellent organisational and time management skills, and a great attention to detailSharp analytical and problem-solving skills, a creative thinker with a visionWho You Are You understand what it means to work in a fast-paced startup, this excites and motivates youYou like to do everything to a high standard but know when to be pragmaticYou are highly collaborative and an excellent communicatorYou do not hide problems, mistakes or failure, but rather learn and develop from themWhat You Will Get AXA Health insuranceDeath in Service benefitsWFH Benefit £250 per annum25 days holiday (including 3 between Xmas and new year) + bank holidaysUnlimited drinks fridge in the officeDiscounts on retailers and gym membershipsWe offer a hybrid working model with employees coming to the London office a minimum of one day per week.
